Relation between Education in Education and Psychology

Education and psychology is the coordination of behavior.  Knowledge of the interrelationship of education and psychology is essential for the coordinated and balanced development of human beings.  All the functions of education are based on the principles of psychology.  According to Crowe and Crowe - "Psychology explains the 'how' of human development related to learning, education seeks to provide the 'what' of learning."  Education psychology is related to the 'why' and 'when' of learning. "

"Psychology explains the 'how' of human development as related to learning, education attempts to provide the 'what' of learning. Educational psychology is concerned with the 'why' and when of learning."

According to Crow and Crow Brown— "Education is the process by which a person's behavior changes" and Pillsbury describes psychology as 'the science of human behavior'.  Thus psychology helps in practical change by studying human behavior.  Therefore, the link connecting both education and psychology is 'human behavior'.  Therefore it is natural for both to be related.  Education in its new sense can never achieve its objectives without the help of psychology.  Influenced by this, academics like Rousseau, Pestalogy, Harbart, Froebel, Montessori etc. have made a successful attempt to bring psychological instinct in education.

Both academics and psychology are social sciences.  Education is a process of socialization and psychology helps in developing this process.  Apart from this, the center of the field of study of both is also generally the same — both the individual and the society, their activity and methodology education and psychology are related to human behavior.  Education modifies behavior and psychology studies behavior.  Both are related to the development of human personality.  From this point of view, there is a correlation between education and psychology.  This means that psychology has an impact on various aspects of education and education also affects the subject matter, field and other aspects of psychology, so it is appropriate to understand the mutual relations of these two as influences on each other.  .

EFFECT OF PSYCHOLOGY ON DIFFERENT (EFFECT OF PSYCHOLOGY ON DIFFERENT)

 PARTS OF EDUCATION)

Today, psychology is influencing various organs of the education process, the purpose of education, curriculum, teaching method, child, time table, discipline etc.  How psychology affects various parts of the educational process is discussed below.

 1. Psychology and Objectives of Education Psychology does not set the objectives of education, because it is legislative science.  The objectives determine regulatory science or philosophy.  Thus education-philosophy determines the objectives of education.  Psychology describes whether or not any objectives can be achieved.  In this regard, Crowe and Crowe have said- "Although psychology cannot determine the goals of education, scientific psychology can tell us that a goal is in the hopeless clouds or can be found."

James Drever's arguments also affirm this- "Psychology does not end by deciding as much as it is possible or impossible to accomplish the purpose of education; rather, psychology can tell with certainty what means they have got  can be done."

It is clear from this that after the psychology has known that an objective can be achieved or not, by changing the objectives, they can be made attainable.  A teacher without knowledge of psychology cannot know whether he succeeded in achieving his objectives.  In this way, psychology helps a lot in setting and achieving the objectives of education.

 2. Psychology and Curriculum - Curriculum in Education Ancient Methods

More importance was given to the child and the child had to read all the compulsory subjects.  Emphasis was given more on book knowledge.  Today, with the help of psychology, it has been realized that the curriculum should be designed keeping in mind the interests, trends, abilities and mental abilities of the children.  The course builder should have complete knowledge of the child-mind.  Each stage of child development has different characteristics and requirements.  These requirements can only be met by the curriculum.  For example, which text book would be suitable for which class?  It is considered first that to what extent the condition of the child and the required course will prove useful.  With the help of psychology, we can determine the textual subjects and texts based on the principles of 'from simple to complex'.  Each stage of child development has different requirements.  Knowledge of child-mind can be obtained with the help of psychology.  Hence the help of psychology in curriculum making Is priceless.
